While doing this I”m making ghetto slurpees, well, more slushy/icees from ice and concentrated fruit punch. I got them too close to the window sill and OOPS a little gray goose fell in! When it was too thick I caught myself stirring while cackling “MORE RUM” in an attempt to channel my fabulous sister. Although I then found myself briefly sad that I did not in fact HAVE rum.

I then skewered two hot dogs with chop sticks and proceeded to roast them over the flame of my gas stove, always better when the skin’s toasty. Why yes yes, I just had a cook-out in my kitchen while shakin’ my ass and wishing you were here. All of you. Wherever you are

Sunday I left work after half a day because my tummy just hurt too badly, and then today I stayed home..fucking. I was getting better!

Although I was home and having a hard time keeping things down, I actually made great strides in stuff that I’ve recently learned!

Last Friday I was at work for some adobe training stuffs, which inspired me to head home and get CS5 master suite.

So thanks to Lynda.com (from work) I have learned a lot and have taken care of a much needed overhaul of my website. It still needs some fine tuning, but for the time being…here:

Can’t you cover something in slime to make it a monster or make it have too many eyeballs? Why tentacles?!

I think it’s the world against cephalopods and it makes me sad.

I think it’s pretty safe to post about my creations as well, I don’t think my dearest Lexi reads this blog but if she does, she won’t until after her wedding and so she won’t know that I slaved (hehe) for the last four days to accomplish creating her after-wedding outfit. Ask me for bloomers and it gets you a bloomers, corset and hair accessory. And THIS ladies and gentlemen, is why I save so much scrap fabric, it comes in handy later!

So I will be flying out to a non-stop OMG busy ass vacation full of two weddings, three family members (one and his partner unexpected), a birthday and a tattoo. I figured it out and think that over the entire vaca I actually have about one full day that isn’t taken up with people and activities.

I also am trying to work some magic in my head to create a fantastic box when I get there. Yes, a box.

This is where I start to wonder if I should also make a list so I don’t forget things but I’m awful at lists and fantastic at forgetting things.

EEK, work day ho!

Right now I get up, I go to work, I try to get everything sewn by the time I fly out and I try to pretend that my arm/shoulder isn’t killing me.

I don’t want to talk to much about “ow, my arm hurs” so my decision is to just not talk too much. Hope that works for ya’ll.

Well I have no idea why I was scared of this dress. Maybe because Pink and me haven’t always gotten along.

But my dress came yesterday. We picked it up from the post office and when i got home I discovered that the website lied!

It said that in order to be an inch and a half smaller than my actual bust size I needed a 5X…I’m sorry, a 5 X!?!?

Well, better safe than sorry so ok, get me a 5x. It comes and I have taken the bust in almost 8 inches. Those little liars! Thank goodness I’m me, I feel awful for regular people that order from that website and then have to struggle to find a seamstress.

And no, the dress to the right isn’t it, that’s the inate fear. The dress itself is below on a much more attractive girl than I:

There are no frills, no silly jewels. Good choice Steph!

Mind you, I’m three times larger than the entire bridal party combined, but I think being me makes up for it!

As for the dress for the Lexi wedding. That was a nightmare to construct! Made almost entirely out of scrap fabric that I have in my cupboard (yeah, make fun of my spare fabric now, will ya?) and I think turned out just loverly!

This dress also comes with a large Kentucky Derby-style hat. A hat that I have no idea how I’m going to get to Portland. I got distracted in the middle of this post and now I need to get back to picking apart the Luah Pork I made for the next couple night’s dinners

I got hit by a car. If you read this you probably already know that but I should still say it officially.

I was walking across the street in a cross walk with the walk signal still saying to walk, and after I got half way across the street someone turned right into the far lane through me. I got a big ole haematoma on my head and screwed my shoulder up pretty badly.

The bruising was light except for my head. I’ve visited my Doctor and am seeing her again on Wednesday and will be getting a referral for a physical therapist. But I really am ok

Well, my eyelid sure felt bruised, so I stuck to the beating up story.

Friday morning, my Saturday and oh what a day! I wake up, I feel a little strange and Oh my gosh…my eyelid’s swollen! It’s HUGE! I look all broken and icky!

Call my doctor and get an appointment for eleven. By that point the swelling nearly goes down, so she’s like “I see a little swelling here” .. I should have taken a picture.

I’m taking a pile of allergy pills to try to get it down and cold compresses. Really I think they didn’t help at all and it’s just healing on it’s own with time.

So with that i spent much of my weekend on my back, in the no-so-happy way, but did manage time to make myself a new/fabulous skirt!

I called in sick on Sunday (and should have Monday) because of my eye issues (computer screen for 8 hours with a screwed up eye?) but I still managed to design and make this wonderful thing. I added two sets of ties on both sides to make sure the back got pulled up enough, and was concerned that it looked funny. I have now been assured that it looks FABULOUS andis my boss’s boss’s favorite part of teh skirt

Well, that’s a mighty fine question, right there. I hve been working and staring and working and staring. It’s a very strange place to be.

This dress that I’m making, this fantastic and painful dress, has stolen my brain. I had enough fabric already to make it, and it’s amazing, but why oh why did I decide that a vintage dress with gathered top was a good plan?

Each night I came home from work and I toiled (I think I just like saying toiled) I made three trial runs of the design and it didn’t finally come together until I gave up and cut it out of the dress fabric with the logic that if it didn’t work…meh, I’m too tired to keep trying.

BUT NOW! Now it is just about completed. I just need to hem the skirt and it’s finished! Zipper in and all! Also tonight I have completed (I think) the derby hat that goes with it. While down in fabric district I found the hat for $10 and the rest is scrap from around the house. Trim/ribbon and flowers and feathers. I know that I really do keep too many things around (things read as craft supplies) but sometimes they really do come in handy.

On a side note, I bought purple shoes. They cost $15 and I just had to. I’m doing SUCH a poor job at saving for my trip, I don’t even have my plane ticket yet, but I have purple shoes.

As for the plane ticket I keep catching myself saying things like “Next Payday” over and again. Then I buy a few thigns that I need like a ceiling fan (that has made a world of difference0 and food and a sister’s birthday present and in the end somehow I find that I haven’t enough money for a plane ticket…god damn it! This trip WILL happen, I have weddings to go to and people to love!

Anyhow, there’s the catch up on things in my life. Oh, and I kinda sorta like a boy but it’s not serious.
